Dilys & Darren Waterhouse are no longer anything to do with the Golfers Arms neither have we been since the 21st October 2009.

We have taken control back of the website purely to place this disclaimer. As it is still our details that were shown here we felt we needed to amend the records.

We left on the 21st October 2009 due to circumstances we could no longer control, these being in the main a number of local "Faces" who simply would not let a business run without causing grief.

We was in our 3 yrs 7 mth responsibile for taking a closed and run down pub and turning it in to one of the best fitted out pubs in town with great facilities but unfortunately we could not attract enough of the right crowd and that left the way open for the idiots to still impose there will and with very little support we was always fighting a losing battle. To those that supported us thank you ( We think you no who you are !!) To those that did not one day you will have to pay a price for either your actions or your lack of them....!!

For us the writing was on the wall after the fateful night back in Dec 08 which saw 2 men bash 1 silly and 7 men sit in a bar and do nothing about it even when the bar staff were threatened and we were pushed shoved then threatened, followed by one of what we thought was one of our nicer local's attempting to attack Dil then me the Thursday before Easter 09 followed by the actions of many on Easter Sunday 09......... This added to threats the property damage and the general apathy pushed us away.

We wish all the decent people of Newtown a happy New Year we would have loved to say goodbye properly but put simply we could not take the grief...
